It’s FRIDAY!!! You what that means? It’s Friendly Fridge Fridays! We are on an amazing journey of learning and discovering all about the different Friendly Fridges and their Artist. This week we had the pleasure of stopping over at The Bronx Friendly Fridge.

8 w Kings Bridge rd, Bronx, NY

Right out side of a local store sit this shining star of a Bronx neighborhood. It’s located right near the train and is also accessibl by buses so which makes it convenien to get to. This visit, we got a chance to speak with David, a local volunteer who helps keep the fridge going. He and another volunteer Chaz, sovereign_earth garden work together to promote, maintain and handle the back end of the up keep of the fridge. These two together are a great partnership as they coordinate well to keep the fridge stocked, clean and completely empty(which I honestly see as a compliment). With both of them being such vibrant people, they are both very engaged with the locals about the movement.

The Art

This week’s Artist is Laura Alvarez! Laura was born in Valencia, Spain but is fully involved in the Bronx community. She is an Artist of many hats, but her main focus with her art is to tell a story within a story and create images that inspire and uplift all that come a cross it. If you want to find out more about her and her upcoming projects please follow her at @bigeyesworld on instagram or visit her website at www.lauraalvares.com
